Frequently asked
Do I need an account to use Habitually?
No. Habitually has no accounts and no server — nothing to sign up for, and nothing collected. Your habits live on your device.
What happens to my streak when I pause a habit?
Nothing — that is the point. Paused days are invisible to the streak engine: pause one habit or everything at once, and when you come back your streak continues as if the paused days were never scheduled.
Is my data backed up? What if I lose my phone?
Habitually stores everything on your device, so it is included in your own iPhone backup — restoring your phone from an iCloud or computer backup restores your habits. The app itself has no cloud sync or in-app export yet; a dedicated export is on the roadmap.
How do challenges work?
A challenge is a link. The habit — name, icon, goal, schedule — is encoded into the link itself, and accepting it adds the habit to the other person’s day. No account is required on either side, and no server is involved.
What does Habitually read from Apple Health?
Only the metrics you connect to a habit (for example steps or workout minutes), and only to mark that habit’s progress. Health access is read-only — Habitually never writes to Apple Health — and it is off until you enable it.
What is free, and what does Pro add?
Free is a complete practice: every completion type, the Apple Watch app, all widgets, streaks, stats, and challenges. Pro adds unlimited habits and every theme, by monthly or annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Why did the paywall only appear after a week?
By design. Habitually stays quiet until your first week-long streak shows the app is actually helping — and falling off a streak never triggers anything. Rest is never for sale.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds go through Apple as well: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. We cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
Still stuck?
Write to hi@habitually.tech — a real person reads every message. Including your iOS version and what you expected to happen makes fixes faster.
Habitually is a small, independent app. If it's earned a place in your day, a rating on the App Store means a lot.
