Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
Introduction
Lalune Creative AB (“we”, “us”, or “Habitually”) built the Habitually app for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, and Wear OS (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you use the App and this website.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Terms not defined here have the same meaning as in our Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
Your habit data
The habits you create, your completions, streaks, pauses, reminders, habit photos, and preferences are stored locally on your device — using Apple's SwiftData framework on iPhone, and a local Room database on Android. This data stays on your device: the App does not upload it anywhere or sync it to any cloud service, and we have no access to it.
If you use your platform's own backup, your data is included in your backup under that platform's terms: Apple's device backup on iPhone, and Android's encrypted device backup and device-to-device transfer on Android. These backups belong to you and your platform account — they are not a Habitually service, and we cannot read them.
No account required
Habitually does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or other identifying information to use the App.
Diagnostics
If you opt in through your device settings, Apple or Google may share aggregated, anonymized crash and performance reports with us to help us identify and resolve issues. This data is provided by the platform and is not linked to your identity. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the App.
Health Data
You may optionally allow Habitually to read certain health-related data to track or automatically complete a habit — through Apple's HealthKit framework on iPhone, and through Android Health Connect on Android. The App only ever reads this data; it does not write to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Depending on the habits you set up, the categories the App can read include activity and fitness (steps, workouts, active energy, distance, floors climbed, wheelchair pushes, VO₂ max, and heart-rate measures), sleep, body measurements (weight, body fat, lean body mass, height), nutrition and hydration, vitals (blood pressure, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, body temperature), and cycle tracking (menstruation, basal body temperature). The App reads only the categories needed for the habits you create.
Health data is processed on your device, used solely to display and complete your own habits, and stored only as part of your local habit record. We do not share it with third parties, transmit it off your device, sell it, or use it for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose. The integration is disabled by default and must be enabled per habit, with permission granted via Apple Health or Health Connect. You may revoke access at any time from those apps without affecting the rest of the App, and deleting a habit or the App removes the associated records from the habit history.
Challenge Links
When you share a challenge, the habit's details (name, icon, goal, and schedule) are encoded directly into the link you send. There is no server involved: we do not receive, store, or track challenge invitations, and opening one does not create an account or identify anyone.
Website Analytics
This website can use a single, consent-gated analytics cookie (Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages help visitors. It runs only if you accept the cookie notice; declining disables it entirely. Google Signals and ad personalization are switched off, and no analytics of any kind run inside the App itself.
Purchases
Habitually may offer optional in-app purchases. Any purchases are processed by the store you bought the App through — the Apple App Store or Google Play — and we do not receive or store your payment details. Purchase validation is handled through the store's own frameworks and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy or Google's Privacy Policy, respectively.
Data Security
Because your habit data lives on your own device, it is protected by the security features of your device. We strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting any information we do handle. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
